Historic Poquatuck Hall, celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2024, is a vibrant community gathering place in Orient, NY. It is managed and maintained by Oysterponds Community Activities, Inc., which is also responsible for the maintenance of Orient’s monuments.  OCA is a 501(c)(3) organization, funded by membership dues and your generous, tax deducatible donations.

Public Events This Season at Poquatuck Hall: 

PoquaTALKS Presents: April 6, 5-6PM. Orient resident and Fordham professor Roger Panetta leads a project studying Sing Sing Prison's handwritten intake registers from 1865-1925. The project collects data from the Registers to research how society thought certain characteristics, like physical measurements or family, determined individual behavior. Prof. Panetta will talk about what the project has learned about crime, punishment, and prejudice, and how you can join the fight Zooniverse effort.—Donations accepted at the door

Thirteenth Annual Anne Mackay Song Swap. Saturday, April 13, 6-8 PM. $20. While we are sold out online, a small number of tickets will be available at the door shortly before doors open at 5 on Saturday.

150 Years of Poquatuck Hall. Saturday, May 11, 11-12:30. John Holzapfel’s free lecture will focus on the history of the need, origin, and construction of Orient Village's Poquatuck Hall, as well as provide a visual story of the social, historical, and other important events that this essential building has hosted since 1874. — Donations welcomed.
